One of the most beautiful spots on campus, the rooftop garden is enjoyed by all members of the AOS community. Whether it be learning about the plant’s life cycle, cultivating herbs for the daily lunch menu, engaging in en plein air painting, or enjoying an evening reception, the rooftop garden is considered a favorite by many.
Middle School Science Lab
The science program at AOS encourages students to be curious and confident in the scientific method and inquiry. The hands-on science curriculum from lower school to middle school emphasizes skills and strengthens their abilities to design experiments, collect data, evaluate findings, and collaborate with their peers to share and analyze results. Each grade has access to their own fully equipped science lab.
Lower School Classroom
The lower school at AOS helps our students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Students develop a love of learning and the curriculum encourages them to be independent, engaged learners.
As they solidify their foundational skills in math, reading, and writing, students begin to collaborate in project-based learning, engage with technology in meaningful ways, develop effective communication skills, and gain exposure to science, art, music, Greek, religion and social and emotional wellness. Students are stewards of their own communities through classroom social contracts, student leadership, and living agape (unconditional love in action.)
Caloudas Activity Center
Our activity center serves as a community hub for our school. The space serves as our all-school meeting place, our performing arts venue, our assembly hall, and our sports arena. Performing arts are an integral part of an AOS student’s development and well being. Artistic expression and creative process are nurtured and developed through individual and ensemble performances. Athletics are important to the cohesiveness of the school.
The primary goal of our athletic program is to represent the school in a positive manner through strong sportsmanship and character development, both on and off the court or field.
Our community is our greatest strength. Connecting in this space to build memories and bonds across our three divisions is integral to our mission. AOS is a positive and reflective place for our students to come together to grow strong roots and build a launch pad for a well-lived life.
Middle School Art Room
The middle school art room is a place where students dive deeper into the world of drawing, painting, and 3D art-making while also exploring art history.
All 5th- and 6th-grade students have art for a six-week block where they meet four days per week. 7th- and 8th-grade students select their enrichments each trimester and can choose from drawing, painting, or 3D.
Moss Family Olympic Field
This outdoor space is the site of many of the enduring traditions and special events that have shaped AOS as a community. Olympics, Lap Day, and Spaghetti Dinner are just a few of the memorable experiences that take place here. The field is also used daily for P.E., recess, and athletics practices.
Lower School Mural
This mural represents both the name of our school and our Orthodox Christian faith. The icon itself tells the story of The Annunciation as found in the Gospel of Luke. Our Orthodox Christian faith gives us our identity and connects us to Greek culture and Greek Orthodoxy. It provides a foundation for the values practiced and lived out every day at AOS: appreciation for one another, responsibility, humility, reverence, and a love for our shared humanity. It shapes every part of our school—our mission, our approach, and our values.
Lower School Eureka Lab
The Eureka Lab at AOS is a creative and exploratory space for students to try out new technology-focused projects. Students from Kindergarten through 4th grade learn about electronics, robotics, coding, design, and building through real-world challenges.
Students build relationships through collaborative teamwork as they encourage, inspire, and help each other become strong teammates and flexible learners.
Front Entrance of the School
Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) started with humble roots. Our school was founded as a ministry of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in 1970 with only one small Prekindergarten class. Over the last 50 years, it has grown to a school serving over 700 students in Delphi through 8th grade.
Our campus now covers over two city blocks, and we even have our own off-site athletics facility. Achievements are celebrated every day as our students explore, learn, connect, and grow. One of the main strengths of AOS is the strong sense of family that one feels the moment you walk through the doors. Dining Hall
Our dining hall provides the space and opportunity for the entire AOS community to take a break from their day and enjoy a nutritious and wholesome meal together. AOS depends on SAGE Dining Services who create age-appropriate meals that meet a variety of dietary needs including food allergies.
SAGE also offers a program to our student athletes to give them the right nutrients for training, performance, and recovery. We also offer an optional breakfast service for families to enjoy.
Lower School playspace
Physical activity is a pillar of the AOS experience. Driven by our mission to educate the whole child, lower school students have P.E. and recess daily.
The lower school playspace offers opportunities for our students to engage in structured and unstructured play while simultaneously building bonds with their classmates and teachers.
Library
The Brown Foundation, Inc. Library of Annunciation Orthodox School is committed to the mission of forming students to become explorers of reading, critical thinkers, and effective communicators.
A team of librarians advise and guide our students in their reading and research process. The lower school library hosts a print collection of over 16,000 books, and the middle school offers a print collection of over 13,500 books. Students also have access to over 480 ebooks and audiobooks.
