How do you figure out what level of care I need?

A: Determining the level of care appropriate for a specific resident varies per community. At The Oaks of Clearwater we conduct a pre-admission nursing assessment for every potential resident looking to enter our community. This assessment is a basic declaration of a potential resident’s health care needs, concerns, and medical history, and is conducted through our in house nursing staff. This information gives us the directions we need to understand how to properly care for our residents. Once we determine what is necessary to care for them, we then recommend the appropriate level of care that best addresses their needs in our building. Our primary concern is the safety of our residents, and we always attempt to provide them with the opportunity to live in the most appropriately functioning environment to foster their success. Our pre admission nursing assessment allows our team the opportunity to evaluate whether or not a potential residents care is within our abilities as well. If for some reason an inquiring potential resident’s care requires more than we can provide, we utilize our network of community partners and providers to recommend alternate placement.
